Join us for an evening talk – all welcome!
7.00pm for 7.30 start upstairs at the Great Haywood Sports & Social Club.
We are please to have Ron Rock back with a talk about Swifts. These graceful, but threatened, birds will be starting to join us any time now. So it’s a great time to learn all about Swifts and what we can do to help.
Ron will give us a presentation and there will be plenty of opportunity for questions.
There are about 118 species of Swifts world-wide and they breed from Ireland to Beijing, from the Mediterranean and the Middle East right up to the Arctic, but everywhere they are in decline. So let’s see what we can do to help!
Recommended donation of £3 per head (children free) on the night to the Swift Conservation Trust.
If you want more information about Swifts check out the Swift Conservation Trust and download the resources on Swifts, Swallows and Martins at Wild About Gardens.
We are mapping our local biodiversity to support our local Help Nature Thrive work in support of the Parish Council’s Green Infrastructure Plan. We use the i-Naturalist phone app to do this so everyone can help with this – for more information about how to take part please see a previous news item here.
All welcome
