Green Walk – Helping Nature Thrive in local meadows Tuesday 8th July 7.15 pm

Meet at the bus stop outside the Lamb & Flag

We will be guided by Jacquie who will show and tell us all about the work she is doing to enhance nature on her paddocks in Little Haywood

SinCH has helped the Cannock Chase team contact local landowners and tenants who want to do more for nature. Cannock Chase staff have been able to give government funded grants to pay for new hedging, fencing, trees, bat and bird boxes and more.

The parish is now fortunate to have 5 projects completed, which have planted 1.2km of new hedges and almost 100 new trees. Jacquie’s was the first project to be agreed and she has since had a second project funded.

Earlier in the year we showed a film about Active Hope (i.e not a vague hope but hope with action to achieve change) and some of us were thinking “Well what can we do?” Jacquie then inspired us by telling us how she came to decide to make positive change and leave a legacy for nature in the long term.

So please join Jacquie for an evening stroll around her paddocks to hear the full story.

The funding continues into 2025-26 so if you have a project idea which would be located south of the A51 please check out the details of the scheme here .
