It’s been another very busy year for SinCH and a good time to take stock and think about what we want to achieve in 2026.
We have some formal AGM business to deal with first – our financial statement/report and to elect the Steering Committee for the next twelve months.
We can have up to 8 people on the committee but presently we only have 6 so we could have extra people please! If you are interested in joining the committee please let us know at info@sinch.earth and we are happy to chat over what’s involved. If you would like to nominate someone (with their agreement) then send a completed nomination form to info@sinch.earth by Sunday 5th October. Please see the link at the bottom of the page for the form.
The formal part of the meeting will be followed by a comfort break and Tea, Coffee and Cakes before we go onto this year’s topic.
Our AGM topic this year is Local Food – why it’s important and how do we get there?
There has been increasing concern about how industrial farming methods and “big business” have been affecting the way food is produced, climate change and nature’s biodiversity. There are now moves afoot in Staffordshire to begin to develop new and more local solutions. We have the beginnings of many of these initiatives locally and in other Staffordshire communities.
We are very pleased that Nicola from Support Staffordshire has agreed to set the scene and to faciliate questions and our discussions. Nicola organises the Staffordshire Green Network and is currently working with a number of Staffordshire communities to develop Local Food Networks.
We will also have a panel of local people who are already involved in different aspects of localising food so we can ask them questions and get their input into the topic too.
The idea is for us all to take a look at how we currently source our food and to explore what other options there might be. Whether you are a supermarket shopper (aren’t we all?), a grow your own person, a forager, or whatever, there should be guaranteed “food for thought” for everyone!
Please send us your questions for the panel – in advance – to info@sinch.earth.
