A guided tour of Beaudesert Farm

Wednesday 24 June 6.00 pm – (must be pre-booked)

Visit a traditional family farm working with nature and providing local meat.

Located on the edge of Cannock Chase with livestock, cereals and woodland, specialising in rare White Park cattle and Boer goats.

The talk and tour £6.50 pr head.

Summer evening guided walk through a nationally important wildflower meadow

7.00 pm Tuesday 30 June 2025 (must be pre-booked)

Mottey Meadows is one of the best examples in the UK of wildflower meadows managed for hay for many centuries.

At midsummer the reserve will be at its best – supporting over 240 flower and grass species, a range of insects and home to breeding birds such as snipe, curlew and lapwing.

Meet at the Wheaton Aston School – please park on the grass verge by the school.

Don’t forget to bring sensible footwear, insect repellent and hayfever precautions if you suffer.

We will be opening our Growing Space at Colwich Allotments, Coley Lane as part of two Open days on Sunday 5th July and Sunday 19th July 10.00-16.00

An opportunity to take a look at our developing project of nature friendly and organic growing space.

On the 19th July we will be having a storytelling and Poetry Amongst the Potatoes event at 2.30pm from local poet and artist Ingrid Wagner. Those who missed out last time should not do so again!

Ingrid will also have installed some of her nature themed artworks throughout the Growing Space.

Highly recommended… for all ages.

Bat Walk – Saturday 1st August at 20.30

Meet at the entrance to Staffordshire Wildlife Trust Wolseley Centre at the gatehouse (no need to book).

Staffordshire Bat expert Jane will be be guiding us around the Wolseley Centre and giving us an insight into the species to be found there and the work of the Staffordshire Bats Group.

All welcome so bring the kids or a friend – a £5 cash donation on the day in aid of the Staffordshire Bats Group please.

(Family Groups £5)

Bat detectors will be available but if you do have one bring it along. Please wear stout footwear and bring a torch as the ground can be uneven in places.

Bee Safari – Saturday 8th August at 14.00

Meet at the entrance to Staffordshire Wildlife Trust HQ cafe building in the middle of Wolseley Centre (no need to book)

SinCH is repeating its popular Bee Safari so join local expert Ron for a guided walk to identify and explore some of the bee population. With luck we could spot up to 10 species including some of cuckoo bumblebees! No equipment is needed apart from some stout shoes.

All welcome so bring the kids or a friend – a £5 cash donation on the day in aid of the BumbleBee Conservation Trust . (Family Groups £5)
